Responsible for a DW project assessment, this Enterprise Data Warehouse was initiated around one year ago and the candidate needs to be able to look at what has been built and put in place. Responsible to recommend system improvements, performance and tuning improvements. The goal is to assess and determines what is in place and to optimize and improve what is in place for best performance and handle reporting and user requests
Must be SQL Server Specialist “expert” and know Informatica and Erwin “expert” or able to know how best to set up and run products for optimal performance overall

PAID RELOCATION AVAILABLE
Individual will oversee all technical engineering services for the IT operations group. This includes the Networking, MS Admin, Unix, Database and Security departments. The individual will be responsible for all technical activities, providing direction, determine strategic initiatives, and developing architecture. Individual will play a key role in interfacing with the internal development group, providing support, and services. Individual will oversee a mid-level management team for Unix/DB and MS areas. Individual should have a strong technical background, solid management experience and ideally experience in supporting software development and financial based applications. Individual should also be a strong project manager and have specific exposure to SAN/storage, hardware, VM, and supporting mission critical applications.
Responsibilities/Duties:
§ Manage the following technical areas – Networking, Security, MS Admin, Unix, DB administration
§ Responsible for all technical architecture, strategy and oversight
§ Responsible for supporting production, maintenance and repair of all systems
§ Project management – key significant initiatives and projects
§ Primary interface / liaison with internal development group – providing services and support
§ Leading all technical areas including hardware, systems, virtualization, storage, network
§ Design and architect technology solutions to support the environment and business needs.
§ Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and problems, both tactical and strategic.
§ Provides formal processes and methods to administer and support systems.
§ Performs proactive monitoring, performance resolution and appropriate scaling of systems.
Competencies:
§ Demonstrated management experience, interpersonal and communication skills.
§ Demonstrated technical ability supporting networking, MS admin, Unix and database systems.
§ Experience in project management, analysis, proposals and implementation.
§ Specific knowledge with Cisco, Checkpoint, MS AD, Exchange, Solaris, etc.
§ Knowledgeable with technologies and strategies relating to VM, cloud computing, scalability, etc.
Academic Qualifications (minimum requirements):
Undergraduate degree in related field.

Superior Knowledge of Oracle database system w/6 plus years experience
Superior Knowledge of relational database environment, Oracle (and Sybase preferred)
Extensive knowledge and experience with database design, data modeling, performance tuning, and programming required
Knowledge and experience with ETL process/tools, and scripting languages required
Knowledge of UNIX and LINUX environment, Solaris required
Prior experience with risk management and analytics system implementation
Will be responsible for implementing detailed database design, tuning and programming specifications on assigned project(s). The person will implement other tasks required for the development, implementation and continuing operation of various systems involving risk management/analytics operations. Programs supported range from above average complexity to very complex. Supports the daily activity of the Business Areas by creating and maintaining custom reports and programs and by providing technical support for system and software issues. Regularly meets with the supervisor to review progress and problems related to the job.

Has business and technical knowledge of investment processes
Uses solid business knowledge to develop rapid proactive solutions for significant business issues

In support of this, coordinates computer system changes and development processes. Produces project documentation including formal proposals and schedules, system requirements, design document, and testing plans
Communicates system changes and processes to appropriate personnel, documenting any processes as necessary
Trouble shoots any system failures and discrepancies. Recovery solutions are evaluated, selected and implemented.
Communicates discrepancies determined in testing to impacted areas and monitors resolution
Designs and tests systems and/or system changes accurately to insure system efficiency, integrity, productivity and maintainability
Qualifications:
College degree in computer science or related; advanced degree is highly desired.
